Conference Fund for Developing Countries
Applications have now closed
Financial support to participate in the International Society for Clinical Biostatistics and Australian Statistical Conference to be held in Melbourne, Australia from 26 – 30 August 2018 is available to scientists and students from developing countries (Low, Lower-middle and Upper-middle income economies, as defined according to the attached World Bank list as of 1 January 2018). This includes Conference registration and up to 1000 euros towards travel.
In order to qualify, applicants have to submit an abstract for either oral or poster presentation and be selected by the Scientific Program Committee (SPC) for presentation at ISCB ASC 2018.
Applicants should indicate their request for consideration for the CFDC financial support at the time of abstract submission along with a letter of application (on the official letterhead of the institution where the applicant is enrolled/employed) should be emailed to Margarita Moreno-Betancur via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that previous winners are not eligible to apply.
The evaluation and selection for the CFDC will be based on the SPC’s determination regarding the abstracts for oral/poster presentation. This will be administered by the CFDC Subcommittee. Conference registration fees will be waived for those selected for CFDC, and the funds can be used to cover the cost of travel and accommodation, but can only be claimed after attendance and presentation at ISCB ASC 2018.
The CFDC will be entirely separate from the Conference Award for Scientists (CASc) administered by the National Group Subcommittee and from the Student Conference Awards (StCA) administered by the Student Conference Awards Subcommittee. Those who apply for CASc or StCA, but not selected will automatically be considered for CFDC support if they qualify and will be informed accordingly.
