Conference Excursions

Delegates are invited to enjoy a variety of conference excursions scheduled to be held during the afternoon of Tuesday 28 August 2018. The excursions have been carefully selected by the Local Organising Committee to showcase Melbourne’s unique and vibrant environment, providing delegates the opportunity to truly experience all that Melbourne has to offer.


Freddy’s Bike Tour

Time: 13:30 – 17:30
Cost: A$65.00 per person

This all in one Melbourne Bike Tour is a 4 hour relaxing bike ride around the best sights Melbourne has to offer. From the Yarra River, through multiple gardens, Sporting Landmarks and Hidden Hipster locations. Rated number five in Trip Adviser’s top outdoor activities in Melbourne, this is a must do bike tour.

Hidden Secrets Cafe Culture Group Walking Tour

Time: 13:30 – 16:30
Cost: A$85.00 per person

The 3 hour Café Culture walk takes you on a tour of Melbourne’s hidden away food and cafe scene. Delegates will discover places they would never have found on their own and get a real taste of Melbourne’s unique flavour. Perfect for any caffeine fiend, coffee connoisseur, food enthusiast, or those who want to learn more about Melbourne’s food and cafe reputation.

Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) Walking Tour

Time: 14:00 – 15:00
Cost: A$20.00 per person

The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is the largest sporting stadium in Australia and home to the Melbourne Cricket Club. This 40 to 60 minute tour will give delegates the opportunity to explore the inner sanctum of the MCG, walk on the hallowed arena and experience where legends play.

Healesville Sanctuary

The Healesville Sanctuary is one of Australia’s most loved tourist attractions, offering visitors the opportunity to get up close and personal with koalas, kangaroos, pythons and many more in a native bush land setting. Join your fellow delegates for an afternoon trip to Healesville Sanctuary and explore what Australia’s wildlife has to offer.

Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, the Yarra Valley offers a unique native Australian experience, just a stone’s throw away from Melbourne City. Join your fellow delegates on an afternoon tour through the Yarra Valley and take the opportunity to relax and taste some of Australia’s most delicious wines, in stunning surroundings.

Touring Terms and Conditions

These tours are designed by Arinex Destination Management (license No. 2TA001144), for participating delegates and accompanying persons attending the 2018 Joint International Society for Clinical Biostatistics and Australian Statistical Conference 2018.

All sightseeing tours include informative English speaking commentary, all entry fees and meals where specified. Comfortable shoes and clothing are recommended for all tours. For any outdoor tours we recommend that participants bring sun protection cream, sunhat and sunglasses.

All tours are based on a minimum number of participants. If minimum numbers are not reached, alternative arrangements or a complete refund will be made. Places on all tours are limited and will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of payment. Where participants cancel their tour bookings prior to 30 days, payment will be refunded in full. Thereafter, no refunds will be made.
